REASON FOR
ALERT : The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health
Inspection Service, Plant Protection and Quarantine,
USDA/APHIS/PPQ, has informed us that shipments of fresh,
frozen and chilled venison with foot-and-mouth disease are
being offered for entry from some foreign countries . USDA
has authority to prohibit such importations, however, because
of the large volume being offered for import, there is a
reasonable possibility that some shipments may be entered.
USDA has requested our assistance in this matter.

INSTRUCTIONS : If you encounter any shipments of fresh, frozen, or chilled
venison being offered for entry from countries not listed in
Attachment A, please inform the USDA/APHIS/PPQ. Attachment B
is the list of contacts for each district office.
