To provide faster service to the news media, the U.S. Geological Survey has set up several listservers. USGS listservers will automatically email the latest news releases and other information issued by the Office of Communications about USGS activities. The listservers are organized by topic: biology, geology, geologic hazards, mapping, water, the monthly Science Picks, selected new products, and announcements of lectures at our Menlo Park campus.

To subscribe to any list, send an email to listproc@listserver.usgs.gov. You may subscribe to more than one list; just be sure to list each command on a separate line. In the body of the message say "subscribe (name of listserver) (your name)":
example: | subscribe water-pr Joe Smith subscribe USGS-science-picks Joe Smith |
Please note that subscribers will not be able to reply or send their own messages to the list. These listservers are designed for rapid dissemination of information concerning the USGS and its activities, rather than for gathering feedback. Each item we post will have a point of contact included, and any questions should be directed to the person listed as the contact.
To unsubscribe from any list, send an email to listproc@listserver.usgs.gov. In the body of the message say "unsubscribe (name of listserver)":
example: | unsubscribe USGS-science-picks |
General comments or questions about the listservers should be directed to Karen Wood by email at kwood@usgs.gov or by telephone at 703-648-4447 in the Office of Communications, USGS.
