Webcast events included:
At Georgia Tech/Emory Center for the Engineering of Living
Tissues -- researchers presented Prosthetic Pete, an interactive display with
interactive devices for replacements and improvements in the body. Also discussed: how engineered tissue replacements are being developed.
At the Argonne National Laboratory -- how scientists
find the right answers was the topic. A research meteorologist conducted a demonstration
of how researchers find new scientific truths.
At the National Center for Atmospheric Research -- scientists discussed Windows on Wildfire Weather. A model on the impact of wildfire on
local winds was displayed with a brief description of the reasons why
fire dynamics affect atmospheric stability.
At the San Diego Supercomputer Center -- scientists and engineers were on hand to demonstrate visualization techniques involving examples of molecules,
human body parts, and the surface of Mars.
