Description

The Division of Cancer Prevention and Control (DCPC) serves as a leader for nationwide cancer prevention and control. Through its partnership with state health agencies and other key groups, DCPC is able to plan, direct, coordinate, and support cancer control efforts. DCPC focuses its resources on eight areas: the National Breast and Cervical Early Detection Program, the National Program of Cancer Registries, the National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, the Colorectal Cancer Prevention and Control Initiatives, the Prostate Cancer Control Initiatives, the Ovarian Cancer Control Initiative, the Skin Cancer Primary Prevention and Education Initiative, and the Cancer Survivorship Initiative. DCPC's newest initiative, Cancer Survivorship, concentrates on developing partnership to effectively bring a public health focus to cancer survivorship.
