Our Center City location is convenient to many forms of public transportation.
Visitors are encouraged to use public transportation whenever possible.
The Amtrak station is 30th Street Station. The Southeastern Pennsylvania
Transit Authority (SEPTA) runs numerous train, bus, subway and trolley
lines in the immediate vicinity. The closest stop for SEPTA trains
is Suburban Station. The Market-Frankford Elevated Line serves 15th
and Market Streets, and the Broad Street Subway serves City Hall.

www.septa.org. PATCO runs frequent
trains from New Jersey to 16th and Locust Streets. (See

) Greyhound Bus Lines, Peter Pan Trailways, and Martz Trailways

at 10th and Filbert Streets or Broad and Cherry Streets (See

Rail From Philadelphia Int'l Airport. There
is a SEPTA Regional Rail "R-1train"
which goes from the airport to center city Philadelphia. Take
any R-1 train, fare is about $5.00 which you can pay on
the train. Get a round trip ticket if you are going back via the
train. Get off at the Suburban Station stop(16th and JFK Boulevard).
Exit the train and go up to the concourse level. Walk through
the concourse toward 17th and Arch and take the steps up to street
the level (across from the regional rail ticket booths). US EPA
Region IIIs Building at is 17th & Arch Street.(1650

From Amtrak 30th Street Train Station.
The Amtrak train station is about 8 blocks from EPAs office.
You can catch any SEPTA
Regional Rail<
heading toward center city. The trip is free when
using Amtrak, show the conductor the Amtrak ticket or ticket stub.
NOTE: All of the eight Rail lines connect the Philadelphia suburbs
with center city. Make sure you get on an inbound train
heading toward center city. Take the train one stop and
get off at Suburban Station(16th and JFK Boulevard). Exit the
train and go up to the concourse level. Walk through the
concourse toward 17th and Arch and take the steps up to street

From South or Philadelphia Int'l Airport via Interstate I-95.
Take I-95 North, you will pass the Naval Base, Stadiums, and
Columbus Blvd exits. Then exit off of I-95 Northbound on the left
hand side of the expressway at the I-676/Callowhill exit ramp
(Exit #22). Stay to the left side of the ramp and follow signs
to I-676 West. Once on I-676 drive about 1/2 mile and take the
Broad/15th Street exit. This exit will drop you off onto 15th
Street going south. Drive 3 blocks (4th traffic light) and make
a right onto Arch Street(stay to left side). Drive two blocks,
building on left at 17th & Arch Street. (Tall greenish glass
with a white metal structure).
To Leave: Take 16th Street North three blocks
to Vine Street. Make a right onto Vine Street, the Access ramp
for I-676 Eastbound is at Broad Street and Vine Street, then follow
signs for I-95 South or Chester/Airport.
From North via Interstate I-95. You will pass the Girard
Avenue exit as you travel southbound on I-95. Take the I-676 West/Callowhill
exit ramp (Exit #22). Stay to the left side of ramp and follow
signs for I-676 West. Once on I-676 West drive about 1/2 mile
and exit at the Broad/15th Street exit. This exit will drop you
off onto 15th Street going south. Drive 3 blocks (4th traffic
light) and make a right onto Arch Street (stay to left side) Drive
two blocks, building on left at 17th & Arch Street(Tall greenish
glass with a white metal structure).
To Leave: Take 16th Street North three blocks
to Vine Street. Make a right onto Vine Street, the access ramp
for I-676 eastbound is at Broad Street and Vine Street, then follow
signs for I-95 North or Trenton/New York.
From West via Pennsylvania Turnpike. Exit off of the PA Turnpike at the Valley Forge Exit (Exit
#24). Do not exit after the toll booth this road is I-76 eastbound
to Philadelphia (Schuylkill Expressway). Drive about 10 miles,
as you pass Boat House Row and Art Museum stay left and exit onto
I-676 Eastbound. Take the second exit (about 1 mile) which is
Broad Street/15th Street exit. Make a right onto 15th Street as
you come up the ramp. Drive 3 blocks and make a right onto Arch
Street (stay to left side). Drive two blocks, building on left
at 17th & Arch Street(Tall greenish glass with a white metal
structure).
To Leave: The access ramp for I-676 westbound
is located at 16th Street and Vine Street. Take 16th Street north
three blocks to Vine Street, cross over Vine Street and stay on
right side to access ramp.
From Southern New Jersey via I-295 North
or Route 42 West. Take I-295 North
or Route 42 West to I-76 West toward the Ben Franklin Bridge/Camden.
Stay on far right outside lanes and follow signs for I-676 North
(Exit 2 Camden/Ben Franklin Bridge). Take I-676 to the Ben Franklin
Bridge ($3.00 toll to leave NJ, free to enter NJ). As you come
off the Ben Franklin Bridge and approach the traffic light stay
in the center lanes. Keep going straight and follow signs for
I-676 again. Once on I-676 drive about 1/2 mile and exit at the
Broad/15th Street exit. This exit will drop you off onto 15th
Street going south. Drive 3 blocks (4th traffic light) and make
a right onto Arch Street (stay to left side). Drive two blocks,
building on left at 17th & Arch Street(Tall greenish glass
with a white metal structure).
To Leave: Take 16th Street North three blocks
to Vine Street. Make a right onto Vine Street, the access ramp
for I-676 Eastbound is at Broad Street and Vine Street, then follow
signs for Ben Franklin Bridge I-676 East or Camden, New Jersey.
From New York via I-295 South or New Jersey
Turnpike. Take the NJ Turnpike Exit
4 or Route I-295 to Route 73 westbound. Stay on Route 73 westbound
for about 3 miles, exit is on the left side, and follow signs
for the Betsy Ross Bridge ($3.00 toll to leave NJ, free to enter
NJ). Take the Betsy Ross Bridge directly to I-95 South, Philadelphia.
Once on I-95 southbound you will pass the Girard Avenue exit.
Then take the I-676 West/Callowhill exit ramp (Exit #17). Stay
to the left side of ramp and follow signs to I-676 West. Once

From Center City Philadelphia
1) Vine Expressway east to I-95 South (follow Chester/ Phila
Int'l Airport sign).
2) I-95 South to Rt. 322 West (19.1 miles from Vine Street).
3) Exit I-95 from right lane at Rt. 322 West (Conchester Road).
- Stay in left lane of exit ramp; do not exit hard right onto
Highland Ave.
- Note that Rt. 322 West exit is about one mile south of Rt. 322
East (Commodore Barry Bridge) exit.
4) Proceed 2.1 miles on Rt. 322 West to Chelsea Parkway.
- Note that Rt. 322 West is often congested where two lanes merge
into a single lane.
5) Right on Chelsea Parkway.
- Chelsea Parkway is first traffic signal past AMF Conchester
bowling alley on right.
- Arby's Roast Beef is on far right corner of intersection.
6) Right into first driveway (appx 150 feet) at Chelsea Business
Park.
7) Immediate left onto parking lot.
8) EPA is located in the third office on the right. Additional
parking can be found in the rear of building.
From Northeast Philadelphia and Bucks County
Proceed to I-95 South.
Follow directions from step 2 above.
From New Jersey
Take any of the bridges across the Delaware River to I-95 South.

Route 476 (Blue Route) South to I-95 South.
I-95 South (appx 3.6 miles) to Rt 322 West.

Rt. 1 North to Rt. 322 East in Concordville (Conchester Road).
Right on 322 East to Chelsea Parkway (appx. 5 miles).

From Points South
I-95 North across DE/PA state line.
Exit at Route 452 (Market Street - Exit #2)
Left on Market Street to Rt. 322 (Conchester Road).
Exit Market Street via cloverleaf to Rt. 322 West.

I-95 North across DE/PA state line.
Exit at Chichester Ave (1st PA exit).
Left on Chichester Ave. to Larkin Road. (appx. 2 miles).
Right on Larkin Road which becomes Bethel Road.

By Public Transportation:
SEPTA's Route 114 bus originates at the Darby Transportation
Center and terminates at the Larkin's Corner Shopping Center on
Chelsea Parkway, directly across from the EPA field office. Buses
run every half hour (currently at 10 and 40 minutes after the
hour). It is approximately a one hour ride.
Alternatively, SEPTA's R2 Wilmington/Newark rail line can be
taken to the Chester Transportation Center where the Route 114
bus to Larkin's Corner can also be boarded. The COOP facility
is approximately a 30 minute ride on the bus from Chester.

To Fort Meade (Environmental
Science Center) From the North,
take I-95 south to Baltimore. As you approach Baltimore, three
alternate routes can be used to go south of the city: I-95 ( Ft.
McHenry Tunnel), I-895 (Baltimore Harbor Tunnel), and I-695 (Key
Bridge & the Baltimore beltway.) The shortest route is the I-895
Baltimore Tunnel, often called the Old Tunnel. In whatever option
you choose to take around Baltimore, take I-295 south (Baltimore-Washington
Parkway (BW Parkway)) to Fort Meade. The exit for Ft. Meade, Route
175, is about 8 miles south of I-695 (Baltimore beltway.) The
exit is a right hand exit. (This exit is the first exit after
Route 100.)
On Rt. 175, head east. There will be several traffic signals along
Rt. 175 before you get to Ft. Meade proper (~2 miles). The first
traffic signal on Ft. Meade is at Reece Rd. Continue to the next
signal and make a right (Mapes Road.) The Environmental Science
Center is on your immediate right.

From Greater Pittsburgh Airport: Penn Lincoln Parkway toward Pittsburgh
to Interchange I-79, I-79 South to I-70 Interchange at Washington
PA., I-70 West to Wheeling WV. From I-70 West, Exit 1-A Downtown,
Main Street. At end of exit ramp turn left onto Main Street going
south. At fifth traffic light turn left onto Twelfth Street. Go
two blocks to Chapline Street and turn left again. Halfway down
the block on the right is a public parking lot, park there or
on the street.

To Chesapeake Bay Program Office (Annapolis) From the North, take 1-95 South to Baltimore (I-695). Take
I-695E to I-97S to Route 50/301 interchanges. From Route 50 take
exit 24, Annapolis-Rowe Blvd. Take Rowe Blvd. to the end at the
State Capitol. (After passing the traffic light at Taylor Ave,
get into the left lane. At the end of Rowe Blvd. turn right onto
College Avenue. After the next traffic light you will be in Church
Circle. Follow this circle (center lane) until you see Nations
Bank and the Maryland Inn on the two sides of Duke of Gloucester
St. Turn right at this point and follow the street to its end.
As you approach the end move to the right side. Make a right at
the end, go across the bridge and then get into the left lane
before you reach the traffic light at Severn Avenue. Make a left
onto Severn and go one-and-a-half blocks to a parking lot or park
for free on the street. The CBPO is on the first floor of the
building facing the harbor.
