Welcome to the EPA Region 7 Water page.
Our Water Division implements programs to protect human health and the environment by preventing and reducing contamination of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska's surface and ground water. Authority was given to EPA to regulate surface and ground water by the 1987 amendments to the Clean Water Act (CWA) and the 1986 amendments to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). Region 7 values long-term planning to effectively address complex environmental issues.
