The STATE/TRIBAL PROGRAMS SECTION is responsible for management and oversight of water program activities carried out through financial assistance to States, Tribes, universities, non-profit organizations, and other government agencies. Financial assistance programs are managed in accordance with provisions of the Clean Water Act; Safe Drinking Water Act; Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act; and Appropriation Acts. Additional information regarding the assistance funding programs managed in this Section is provided in the links below. The State/Tribal Programs Section also serves as the Water Quality Protection Division’s lead in coordination of activities related to Performance Partnership Agreements and Grants.
