A net is placed
at the upper and lower ends of a 100 meter long stream section to
survey. Rocks secure the bottom to prevent fish escape.
An electrofishing
team consists of a least four people. The shocker controls the current
which temporarily disables the fish. The shocker "sweeps"
the fish into the nets, and they are transferred to a bucket of
water. Three passes are made, less fish should be caught in progressive
passes.
