President Bush to Nominate Coleman to be Ambassador of the United
States to Luxembourg
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate
Dennis P. Coleman to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of
the United States of America to Luxembourg.
"Dennis Coleman has demonstrated leadership in the business world and
commitment to helping others. He will be an excellent
representative of the United States to Luxembourg," said President
Bush.
Mr. Coleman is currently a Private Investor in Palm Beach, Florida, and
was Vice-Chairman of the Discount Corporation of New York from 1991 to
1993. He served with Bear Stearns Companies, Inc. in several positions
including Executive Vice President, Member of the Executive Committee
and Member of the Board from 1967 to 1989. Since 1986, he
has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Covenant House, a
Catholic Charity serving over 60,000 street children per year in 6
countries and 21 locations, and served as Chairman of the Board from
1993 to 1999. Coleman is a member of the Board of Regents of
Georgetown University, a Member of the Board of the Community
Foundation of Palm Beach County and the Norton Museum of
Art. He is a graduate of Georgetown University and received
a Master's degree from the John Paul II Institute for Studies of
Marriage and Family.
