Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate
one individual and appoint four individuals to serve as Members of his
administration.
The President intends to nominate Stuart Ishimaru, of the District
of Columbia, to be a Member of the Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission, for the remainder of a five-year term expiring July 1,
2007. Ishimaru previously served as Counsel to the Assistant Attorney
General, and went on to serve as Deputy Assistant Attorney General in
the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice. Earlier, he
served as Acting Staff Director for the U.S. Commission on Civil
Rights. Ishimaru is a graduate of the University of California,
Berkeley and earned his law degree from the National Law Center at
George Washington University.
The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be
Members of the United States Section of the United States-Mexico Border
Health Commission:
The President intends to appoint Jose Manuel de la Rosa of Texas
(Recommended by the Governor of Texas).
The President intends to appoint Lawrence Edward Kline of
California (Recommended by the Governor of California).
The President intends to appoint Tom G. Lindsey, II of New Mexico
(Recommended by the Governor of New Mexico).
The President intends to appoint Emma Torres of Arizona
(Recommended by the Governor of Arizona).
