The Africa, Near East, and South Asia (ANESA) Program supports research and education collaborations with scientists and engineers in all of Africa, the Near Eastern countries including Turkey, and the countries of South Asia, primarily India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

The Americas Program provides competitive funding to U.S. researchers for scientific, engineering and educational cooperation with institutions and researchers in Canada, Mexico, and Central and South America. Global Learning to Benefit the Environment

The Global Learning to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program is an international program designed to develop links between scientists and schoolchildren through a global information network. Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) Program

International Activities in the Geosciences

Since the nature of geosciences research is global, the Directorate for Geosciences (GEO) also supports international collaborations and partnerships. In addition to the research programs supported through GEO's three Divisions – Atmospheric, Earth and Ocean Sciences – the Directorate also supports several international, multi-disciplinary activities. This support is "in kind" as well as financial, and ranges from small planning grants to admin- istrative support to full research projects.

International Research Fellowship Program (IRFP)

The objective of the International Research Fellowship Program (IRFP) is to introduce scientists and engineers in the early stages of their careers to opportunities abroad, thereby furthering NSF's goal of establishing productive, mutually-beneficial relationships between U.S. and foreign science and engineering communities. Perception, Action, and Cognition Program

Supports research on cognition, perception and action, including the development of these capacities. Emphasis is on research strongly grounded in theory. Research topics include vision, audition, haptics, attention, memory, reasoning, written and spoken discourse, motor control, and developmental issues in all topic areas. The program encompasses a wide range of theoretical perspectives such as symbolic computation, connectionism, ecological, nonlinear dynamics, and complex systems and a variety of methodologies including both experimental studies and modeling. Research involving acquired or developmental deficits is appropriate if the results speak to basic issues of cognition, perception or action.

Teacher Professional Continuum (TPC)

The Teacher Professional Continuum (TPC) program is the National Science Foundation's major programming effort supporting the full continuum of professional development from recruitment, preparation, and induction, through the life-long development and retention of K-12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) teachers.
