NEW! October 5 Internet Session on Brownfields Grants Program
A potential Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Brownfield
is a RCRA facility that is not in full use, where there is redevelopment
potential, and where reuse
or redevelopment of that site is slowed due to real or perceived
concerns about actual or potential contamination, liability, and
RCRA requirements. The RCRA Brownfields Prevention Initiative was
established by EPA to encourage the reuse of potential RCRA Brownfields
so that the land
better serves the needs of the community either through more productive
commercial or residential development or as greenspace.
This page provides descriptions, official documents and links for
a variety of topics related to Resource Conservation and Recovery
Act (RCRA) Brownfield topics. It also identifies some of the initiatives
as well as resources and recent RCRA guidance and reforms that may
be applicable at potential RCRA Brownfields facilities. For a general
summary of the RCRA Brownfields Prevention program go to Overview.
To find out about recent documents and activities go to Recent
Additions. This will be updated on a regular basis.
For a quick summary of the many topics covered at this website,
