These publications are available in two versions -- a PDF file, which can be printed exactly as published, or the original WordPerfect file (version 10.0), which can be used as the reader sees fit. The WordPerfect file is a self-extracting, 32-bit compressed file; bear in mind that downloading and printing this file from a computer and printer other than for which it was originally formatted will result in misplaced hyphens, incorrect page breaks, etc. (The file was developed using Times Roman True Type font and was designed for a Laserjet 4 Plus printer.) We are not responsible for any problems you encounter.
Two notes on use:
1) To use the self-extracting WordPerfect file, click on the file name. Your computer should ask you where you would like the file saved. Download the file, then 'run' the program (e.g., using Windows Explorer, double click on the file). You should be asked where you would like to save the extracted file. If the program runs without asking you, then check in your computer's 'temporary' directory, which is the default directory to where the file is extracted.
2) Due to a technical difficulty with WordPerfect -- one they seem unable to solve -- the PDF files do not have the National Wild & Scenic Rivers System logo on the cover page. Apart from this, the file is exactly is as it appears in the Reference Guide. This applies only to technical papers; other documents do not have the logo in any version.
