The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is providing a new
e-mail service, entitled CGBNEWS, to apprise consumers about developments at the FCC, to
disseminate consumer information materials prepared by the Commission to a
wide audience and to invite comments from other interested parties on FCC
regulatory proposals.
FCC fact sheets, consumer brochures and alerts, news releases,
public notices, notices of proposed rulemaking, reports and orders, and other
consumer-related information are the types of items that will be sent out via
this new e-mail service. Anyone can subscribe. Here’s how:

Type the following in the subject line or in the body of the message
(not both):
subscribe fcc-consumer-info firstname lastname
(replace with your real first name and last name)

This new service is one of several ways in which consumers
can get information from the FCC. Individuals may also visit the FCC's Web

extensive information on virtually all telecommunications-related issues.
