 Environmental Management Systems

An Environmental Management System (EMS) is a set of processes and procedures that helps an organization analyze, control and reduce its environmental impact. An EMS can help an organization operate with greater efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining or even going beyond compliance obligations.

 Innovation/Experimental Projects

Photo of International Paper in Jay, Maine.Experimental Projects develop and test new approaches to solving environmental problems. Conducted jointly with state and local partners, environmental and community groups, and industry, projects are designed to overcome regulatory barriers, motivate and reward top environmental performers, encourage pollution prevention, and reduce costs.

 Environmental Technologies

Environmental Technologies are critical as we seek new ways to effectively and economically treat, reduce, and prevent pollution. The Center for Environmental Industry and Technology (CEIT) was established by EPA to promote the acceptance of innovative environmental technologies for solving environmental problems. CEIT offers solutions to environmental problems through its Technology Connection and Innovative Technology Inventory. It also assists technology developers in locating government funding and resources. Visit CEIT’s website to learn more about environmental technologies and access a range of resources.
