Source Water Protection Plan

For Public Drinking Water Sources in
Plaistow, New Hampshire
November 2001
Prepared by:

Plaistow Source Water Protection Committee
and
Northeast Rural Water Association

Plaistow, New Hampshire is implementing an Area-wide Source Water Protection Plan , prepared by their Source Water Protection Committee with the assistance of the Northeast Rural Water Association. The plan encompasses 51 public drinking water systems within the town's boundaries, all of which draw their drinking water from ground water sources. These include larger community water supplies (19) and well as smaller transient systems. In addition, many Plaistow residents are served by private wells. The plan identifies and outlines a structured approach to managing potential sources of contamination and threatening activities that occur within the source water protection area.
