Lead & Copper Rule

On January 12, 2000, EPA published minor revisions to the Lead and Copper Rule. These revisions streamline and reduce monitoring and reporing burden, and address implementation problems and issues arising from legal challenges.

The minor revisions to the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) address implementation problems and issues arising from legal challenges to the 1991 rule. They streamline and reduce monitoring and reporting burden.

EPA is making available several fact sheets and guides to help states and public water suppliers implement the revisions.
