  • (HealthDayNews) -- Adolescent children should have an annual medical check up, according to Harvard Medical Schools.

In addition to a routine physical exam, teenagers should have the following immunizations:

    • A tetanus shot. Tetanus vaccinations are meant to be given every 10 years; odds are, teenagers will require one during this age range.
    • A second dose of the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine.
    • The chickenpox vaccine, if they haven't already had the disease or vaccination.
    • Three hepatitis B shots.
    • A skin test to check for tuberculosis exposure.
