FOR RELEASE: FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1994

New Survey Underscores Students' Concern About the Environment, the Importance of Environmental Education

EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner and National Environmental Education and Training Foundation (NEETF) Chairman Francis P. Pandolfi will release two new national surveys -- of American schoolchildren and of disadvantaged students -- on environmental education.
The surveys, conducted by Roper Starch Worldwide, were commissioned by NEETF and funded by EPA. Findings about American students' knowledge and levels of action on environmental issues, and the implications of those findings will be discussed.

WHO: EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner, NEETF Chairman Francis P. Pandolfi (who is also President and CEO of Times Mirror Magazines), and David B. Rockland, NEETF President.

WHAT: The release of two new polls concerning environmental education and American schoolchildren.

WHEN: Tuesday, Dec. 6, 1994, at 11:00 a.m.
