Ferrar Glacier The dim, late-summer sun brightens the Ferrar Glacier in the Transantarctic Mountains of Antarctica. What can still seem like the most remote and forbidding region on Earth has become a model of ongoing international scientific cooperation, with the National Science Foundation playing a lead role.
