Next year the Combustion Research Facility marks the 25th anniversary of opening its doors to visiting researchers. During that time, we have collaborated with thousands of scientists and engineers from all over the world. A U.S. Department of Energy user facility, we are dedicated to working closely with the industrial and scientific combustion community to achieve a more detailed understanding of the complexities of combustion and fostering collaboration among those seeking answers to common problems.

We hope you will join us in celebrating this milestone. Currently, we are running a series of articles in the Combustion Research Facility News-which turns 25 this year-looking back at significant milestones in the history of the CRF and combustion research. We will also take a look into the future of research in combustion and energy sciences, an important topic for our nation and the world because of our heavy reliance on combustion for energy and its profound impact on our environment.
