• On July 29th, Jared joined 18 of his colleagues on a letter to Ambassador Froman calling for strong, enforceable environmental protections that are based on May 10th Agreement standards and that address issues like global climate change, overfishing, and the illegal trade in wildlife.

• On July 27th, Jared joined 17 of his colleagues in calling on the Obama administration to ensure strong enforcement of trade provisions related to forest health and preservation

• On March 24th, Jared wrote to Sen. Ron Wyden, the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, outlining the importance of incorporating stringent environmental and labor standards and other middle-class priorities into any upcoming Trade Promotion Authority legislation.

• On February 20th, Jared joined more than 100 other environmental leaders in the House urging U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman to include a robust, fully enforceable environmental chapter in TPP.

• In February of 2014, Jared wrote to U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman urging him to ensure that whale and dolphin killings in Japan are brought to an end as part of any trade pact.

• On July 24th, Jared along with 17 of his colleagues sent a letter to Ambassador Froman outlining ten specific items the TPP must include to ensure that partner nations not only make a commitment to upholding fair labor standards but actually uphold and enforce them.

• On February 18th, Jared wrote to Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Ways & Means Committee urging them ensure that fundamental labor rights and working conditions are protected in TPA and TPP.

• On July 29th, Jared wrote to U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman urging him to ensure that the TPP promotes digital innovation by incorporating balanced intellectual property provisions.

• On July 24th, Jared, Rep. Suzan DelBene, and Rep. Gerald Connolly highlighted the need to ensure that the TPP promotes the free flow of data across national borders in order to promote free expression and economic growth.

• On February23rd , Jared wrote to the leaders of the House Ways & Means and Senate Finance Committees on the need to safeguard the openness of the Internet and protect U.S. small businesses that rely on the digital economy in TPA legislation.

• On July 17th, Jared was one of 150 members of Congress to send a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry expressing that our ongoing trade negotiations with Malaysia should do nothing to prevent the United States from cracking down on human rights violations occurring there.

• On February 19th, Jared wrote to President Obama urging him to exert pressure on Brunei and Malaysia through the TPP negotiations to encourage them to bring an end to ongoing human rights violations. Jared also signed a similar letter in May 2014 along with 118 of his colleagues.

• On July 24th, Jared and 12 other members wrote to Ambassador Froman discussing the need to increase transparency and accountability in the investor-state dispute settlement process.

• In December 2013, Jared joined with Rep. Thomas Massie to encourage the Obama administration to call for greater transparency in TPP negotiations.

In addition, Congressman Polis has held dozens of roundtables and one-on-one meetings with constituents, businesses, labor groups, and environmental experts from the Second Congressional District to listen to their ideas and concerns about the Administration's trade agenda and relayed their thoughts directly to the President, Ambassador Froman, and his colleagues in Congress.
