Illinois State Trauma Registry (ISTR)

The Illinois Trauma Registry is a repository of trauma data collected from trauma patients who meet the inclusion criteria and who are injured in the State of Illinois.  The Illinois Trauma Registry fulfills the Trauma Center Uniform Reporting Requirements as provided in the Illinois Administrative Code Section 515.2050 Trauma Center Uniform Reporting Requirements.

In order to stay current with the standard of practice involving quality trauma patient care, the trauma patient inclusion criteria follow the National Trauma Data Standard (NTDS). The NTDS is updated annually which provide trending and data analysis on the collected data on a reportable trauma patient. Trauma Centers reporting to the National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) are benchmarked to assist in improvement of trauma care.

The Illinois Department of Public Health went live into production with a new ISTR on June 4, 2020 with support from ESO.

A Question and Answer session is scheduled for Thursday June 11, 2020 at 1030.  Please contact the Illinois State Trauma Registrar if you have not received an invite.
