I currently serve as the Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Consumer Protection

 

In the days following the 2008 financial crisis, I was among the leaders behind the formation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which protects consumers from unfair banking and lending practices, such as deceptive overdraft practices
