Mission Statement:
The Economic Section reports on and strives to
promote a democratic, market-oriented Hungary, regional stability,
prosperity, improved standards of living, respect for human rights,
and achieving better Hungarian integration with western institutions,
including the WTO, OECD, NATO and the EU. The section supports Hungary's
transition to a free-market economy, and promotes U.S. investment
and export opportunities.

A calendar showing dates of release of official statistical information on the Hungarian economy in 2003, as well as some important business and economic-related events. (Word document)
2003 Investment Climate Statement The annual Investment Climate Statement provides information about the investment regime to potential U.S. investors in Hungary in order to help them assess business risks. It is also part of the U.S. government's Country Commercial Guide (available through the Department of Commerce), which is designed to assist U.S. companies interested in doing business in Hungary.
