Originally know as "Pearl Harbor Naval Station Band (Unit Band 03)", PACIFIC Fleet Band was established in February 1941 in conjunction with the PACIFIC Fleet Headquarters at Pearl Harbor. Under the operational control of Commander, U.S. PACIFIC Fleet, much of the band's activity is in support of the numerous ships and shore-based military commands in Hawaii and across the Mid-Pacific region. The band's primary function is to provide musical support for official functions and Navy recruiting efforts as well as to provide musical services, in a public relations capacity, to the islands of Hawaii.

PACIFIC Fleet Band is an organization comprised of highly skilled and versatile Navy professionals dedicated to representing the Navy throughout the region. The pride and professionalism that has become synonymous with PACIFIC Fleet Band is a large part of the tradition and future of the United States Navy.
