Change Your Airman Certificate Number

Effective June 1st, 2002, all original airmen certificates will be issued with a unique certificate number.  The Airmen Certification Branch will no longer be assigning Social Security Numbers (SSN) as the certificate numbers.

Airman certificates presently using the SSN as a certificate number will continue to be issued with that number unless the airman requests a unique number.

If you hold an airman certificate that uses your SSN as your certificate number and you would like our office to change that certificate number to a unique number other than your SSN, or you would like our organization to remove your SSN completely from our official records, please complete, sign, and submit this form (Click here to download a form to change your airman certificate number) along with all pertinent information to the mailing address below or create an account and remove your SSN as your certificate number.
