Search CAGE CODES

The Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS) has sole responsibility for assigning and maintaining the CAGE Code Master File.

The CAGE Code is a five position code that identifies contractors doing business with the Federal Government, NATO member nations, and other foreign governments. The CAGE Code is used to support a variety of mechanized systems throughout the government and provides for a standardized method of identifying a given facility at a specific location. The code may be used for a Facility Clearance, a Pre-award survey, automated Bidders Lists, identification of Debarred Bidders, fast pay processes, etc.

Parts 204, 212, and 252 of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) have been amended to require contractor registration in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to the award of any contract, basic agreement, blanket ordering agreement or blanket purchasing agreement unless the award results from a solicitation issued on or before May 31, 1998. Having a CAGE Code alone is no longer sufficient to qualify a contractor to do business with DoD.

All CCR registrants are validated through the CAGE system. If you have a CAGE Code, it will be identified and applied to your Trading Partner Profile (TPP). If you do not have a CAGE Code, and are a U.S.* company, one will be assigned to you.

Companies outside the U.S. can obtain CAGE codes by going to http://www.dlis.dla.mil/Forms/Form_AC135.asp

Check the new CAGE Code Server to determine if a CAGE Code is already assigned to a contractor. This lookup service is available for everyone.

For Private Industry
We will accept direct requests from private industry for maintenance against an existing CAGE Code. Please send your new information by e-mail to cagemail@dlis.dla.mil along with your CAGE Code.

Maintenance actions will not be acknowledged to the requesting contractor as they may use the CAGE Code Server to confirm the action.

NOTE: Name changes, mergers, acquisitions, and/or product line changes must be sent through regular mail with appropriate documentation corroborating the change.
