Fleet Support - Amphibious Ships

Amphibious Assault Ships, Tarawa Class (LHA) - The largest of all amphibious warfare ships; resembles a small aircraft carrier; capable of Vertical/Short Take Off and Landing (V/STOL), Short Take Off Vertical Landing (STOVL), Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) tiltrotor and Rotary Wing (RW) aircraft operations; contains a welldeck to support use of Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) and other watercraft.

Amphibious Command Ships, Blue Ridge Class (LCC) - Amphibious Command ships provide command and control for fleet commanders.

Amphibious Transport Dock, Austin Class (LPD) - Warships that embark, transport, and land elements of a landing force for a variety of expeditionary warfare missions.

Amphibious Transport Dock, San Antonio Class (LPD) - Warships that embark, transport, and land elements of a landing force for a variety of expeditionary warfare missions.

Command Ships, La Salle and Coronado Class (AGF) - Command ships serve as the flagships for the Commander, Third Fleet, and Commander, Sixth Fleet.

Dock Landing Ships, Harpers Ferry Class (LSD) - Dock Landing Ships support amphibious operations including landings via Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC), conventional landing craft and helicopters, onto hostile shores.

Dock Landing Ships, Whidbey Island Class (LSD) - Dock Landing Ships support amphibious operations including landings via Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC), conventional landing craft and helicopters, onto hostile shores.

Landing Craft, Air Cushioned (LCAC) - Air cushion craft for transporting, ship-to-shore and across the beach, personnel, weapons, equipment, and cargo of the assault elements of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force.
