Electronic Data Retrieval System (EDRS)
The 340B Drug Pricing Program was established in response to the passage of Section 340B of Public Law 102-585, the Veterans Health Care Act of 1992. Section 340B of this law limits the cost of drugs to federal purchasers and to certain grantees of federal agencies. Significant savings on pharmaceuticals may be seen by those entities who participate in this program. This site is administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration / Bureau of Primary Health Care.

- Assistant Secretary for
Planning and Evaluation (ASPE)
The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) is
responsible for policy analysis, coordination and development, formulating budget
and legislative proposals, review
of regulations, and information collection and dissemination related to programs
and policies
affecting children, youth and their families. The principal areas of
responsibility include child and youth development, child
protection, family support and preservation, and human services for children,
youth and their families. ASPE is also involved in
developing the Department's response to special problems as they affect children,
youth, and families such as substance abuse,
violence, homelessness, teen parenthood, and others. "Adolescent Sex,
Contraception, and Childbearing: A Review of Recent
Research" is a paper prepared for ASPE by Child Trends, Inc.
- Administration on Children
and Families (ACF)
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), part of the U.S. Department of
Health and Human Services, brings together in one organization the broad range of
Federal programs that address the needs of children and families. These programs
are at the heart of
the Federal effort to strengthen families and give all children a decent chance to
succeed. Some, such as Child Welfare Services
and Aid to Families with Dependent Children, are familiar and well-established.
Others, like Head Start and
Child Support Enforcement, are getting new attention. Under its wide umbrella, ACF
is able to
bring new ideas, insights, and leadership directly to bear on problems and issues
that impact the lives of all Americans.
- National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information
The National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information was established in 1974 by the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act to collect, organize, and disseminate information on all aspects of child maltreatment. The mission of the Clearinghouse is to connect professionals and concerned citizens to timely and well-balanced information on programs, research, legislation, and statistics regarding the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and families.
The National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information provides an array of products related to State civil laws on child abuse and neglect and related child welfare issues.
