Reviews and identifies data needed for actuarial purposes;
Analyzes plan documents of terminated pension plans to determine benefit entitlement and calculates the Title IV benefits for each plan participant;
Determines present value of Title IV benefits and allocates pension plan assets by priority categories according to Title IV of ERISA and PBGC regulation;
Assists in determining plan asset sufficiency/insufficiency; and
Uses the computer in determining the above.
Qualifications
A degree that includes at least 24 semester hours in actuarial science or mathematics and relevant statistics. Course work must have also included differential and integral calculus and one or more courses in mathematics for which these calculus courses were prerequisite, and up to 9 semester hours of statistics.
