ITS Deployment Team
What We're About
The mission of the ITS Deployment Team (formally known as the ITS Deployment Task Force) is to develop, and support implementation of, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) policies and programs aimed at increasing the level of integrated ITS deployment throughout the country. The team develops ITS program strategies and provides hands-on technical and program expertise to Federal field office staff in areas such as architecture, standards, integration and operations support program so that they are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and information to effectively support integrated ITS deployment, and other key ITS initiatives, with state and local transportation agencies.
The team staff work directly with federal field office staff to:

ensure development of effective service plans which take advantage of a range of funding and other available opportunities;

ensure understanding of ITS architecture and standards conformity rule;

assist in development of a high level of skill in key ITS areas; application of the National ITS Architecture; implementation of architecture and standards policies;

ensure understanding of and use of ITS standards;

evaluate and clarify eligibility issues for ITS integration projects included in TEA-21 Section 5208;

ensure understanding of the potential applications of the ITS deployment tracking survey data;

assist in the development of skills needed to support ITS deployment.
