Clinical ResearchClinical research into HIV infection, chronic viral hepatitis (hepatitis B and C) and other immunological disorders is conducted by the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the Warren G. Magnuson Clinical Center (CC) at the Clinical Center, which is located in Bethesda Maryland. This joint research program is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the world's largest medical research institution, which is operated by the federal government. The clinical trials and studies conducted by the NIAID and CC HIV Program in Bethesda change frequently, but you can learn about us and our research studies here at this site. People can be referred to a clinical trial by their personal physician, or they can refer themselves. Some trials are only for people in the local area, but most permit enrollment from anywhere in the United States, and some travel costs are covered. There is no cost for study-related medical care or medications. Citizenship is not required.
