Nanoscale Science, Engineering, and Technology in the Department of Energy; Research Directions and Nanoscale Science Research Centers
This 20-page brochure describes five Nanoscale Science Research Centers.   These user facilities will provide the Nation’s research community with world-class resources for the synthesis, processing, fabrication, and analysis of materials at the nanoscale.  Each Center will be housed in a new building located near one or more existing BES user facilities.

Scientific Research Facilities: A National Resource
This 44-page booklet describes seventeen highly sophisticated user facilities that enable scientists to carry out experiments that they cannot otherwise perform at their own research institutions.  These major facilities are synchrotron radiation light sources, high-flux neutron sources, electron beam microcharacterization centers and other specialized centers which allow researchers from a wide variety of disciplines to examine their samples in unprecidented detail using leading-edge research equipment and the expertise of the resident facility staff.
