Integrated Emergency Management Course Option


There are numerous versions of the offered for both "generic" and "community specific" audiences, based on different hazards.

  • Preparedness and Response
  • Response and Recovery (Community Specific)
  • Recovery and Mitigation
Some versions of the IEMC use a "generic" audience centered around the "model community", a fictitious city and and county developed specially for the generic audiences. For this generic offering, positions to fill the roles of community officials are recruited from all states, territories and tribes. Other IEMCs are offered for "specific" communities throughout the country. In the specific community courses, all participants are from one community.
