An employee or applicant for employment with the USDA, Food and Nutrition Service who believes that he or she has been discriminated against based on race, color, gender, religion, national origin, age (if over 40), disability, reprisal, political beliefs, sexual orientation, or marital or family status, has the right to file a complaint under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. |

A complaint may be resolved at any stage of either the informal or formal processes. The Department encourages employees and agencies to informally resolve issues and disputes at the lowest level possible. For additional information regarding the FNS Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

Some cases allow for a lawsuit to be filled with the court or the
law(s) may allow other special provisions. Concerns and questions regarding these types of cases should be discussed with the FNS EEO Counselor. |
