BRAVO Study
In order to understand the causes of haze in and around Big Bend National Park, the Big Bend Regional Aerosol and Visibility Observational (BRAVO) study was undertaken in 1999. Results from this study are now available. more

Too much nitrogen can be a bad thing. Farmers use nitrogen to fertilize crops, but too much nitrogen can harm natural ecosystems. In Rocky Mountain National Park, nitrogen pollution from car exhaust, industrial emissions, and agricultural sources has caused changes in water, soil, and tree chemistry.
