Find Volunteer Opportunities

You can use the USA Freedom Corps Volunteer Network to find volunteer opportunities at home or abroad. Just enter geographic information, such as zip code or state, and your area of interest, so you can access service opportunities near your home or office, across the country or overseas.

Additionally, more than 350 American communities have Points of Light Member Volunteer Centers. These Volunteer Centers provide essential, locally-based infrastructure to support volunteering. Their work is focused in four core areas: connecting people with opportunities to serve, building capacity for effective local volunteering, promoting volunteering, and participating in strategic initiatives to mobilize volunteers. A Call to Summer Service

A Call to Summer Service is an initiative designed to remind citizens that the summer months are an excellent time to answer the President’s Call to Service, strengthen their communities, and extend the compassion and greatness of America.  Find information on specific summer needs, great ideas for volunteers, and resources for getting started this summer.

Record of Service

A Record of Service is a private journal of your volunteer time and experiences in response to President Bush's call to service. You can keep a record of your activities serving your neighbor, your community, your country and the world.  You can also use your Record of Service to track your service hours for a Presidential Volunteer Service Award.

Rewarding Volunteers

In order to encourage and recognize outstanding volunteer service and inspire others to volunteer, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation created the President’s Volunteer Service Award. These Awards will honor those Americans who have made serving a central part of their lives and show that when you help your neighbor, you are helping your nation.
