American Academy of Pediatrics
The American Academy of Pediatrics has information on child abuse, advocacy, research, professional education, and publications.

American Bar Association Center on Children and the Law
In 1978, the American Bar Association's Young Lawyer's Division created the ABA Center on Children and the Law. The Center's mission is "to improve children's lives through advances in law, justice, knowledge, practice, and public policy." The Center is a full-service technical assistance, training, and research program addressing a broad spectrum of law and court-related topics affecting children including child abuse and neglect, adoption, adolescent health, foster and kinship care, custody and support, guardianship, missing and exploited children, and children's exposure to domestic violence.

Child Abuse Prevention Network
This site is the Internet Nerve Center for professionals in the field of child abuse and neglect. Child maltreatment, physical abuse, psychological maltreatment, neglect, sexual abuse, and emotional abuse and neglect are the key areas of concern. This Network provides unique and powerful tools for all workers to support the identification, investigation, treatment, adjudication, and prevention of child abuse and neglect.

Childhelp USA
Childhelp USA is dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of abused and neglected children. It focuses its efforts and resources on treatment, prevention, and research. There is also a Kids Corner--designed to help teach children about child abuse.

Children’s Bureau
The Children’s Bureau is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families, Administration on Children, Youth and Families. It is responsible for assisting States in the delivery of child welfare services—services designed to protect children and strengthen families.

Child Safety Institute
This not for profit organization provides many innovative and comprehensive child safety and child prevention programs and materials. There is a special area just for older kids with games, reading lists, and other information about child abuse, but you may find some of these resources helpful when talking to younger children.

National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information
The Clearinghouse is a national resource on the prevention, identification, and treatment of child abuse and neglect and related child welfare issues. The Clearinghouse offers numerous materials and resources in print and on-line. It is sponsored by the Children's Bureau, Administration for Children and Families, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

National Foundation to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse
The primary program focus of the National Foundation to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse is to promote national criminal history checks of volunteers and employees who have unsupervised access to children.

Prevent Child Abuse America
Prevent Child Abuse America is a national organization to prevent child abuse. The site provides child abuse facts, info for kids, tips for parents, publications, and much more.

Reporting Suspected Child Abuse
This site lists the toll free number in each State so you can report suspected child abuse.
