Americorps
AmeriCorps teaches children to read, make neighborhoods safer, build affordable homes, and respond to natural disasters through more than 1000 projects. Most AmeriCorps members are selected by and serve with projects like Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Clubs, and many more local and national organizations.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is the nation's oldest and largest youth mentoring organization. Since 1904, adult volunteers have helped millions of children reach their full potential and fulfill their dreams. The program is in all 50 states. It matches kids with mentors who provide meaningful friendships and share fun experiences.

Developing a Volunteer Program: Initial Assessment

Foster Grandparent Program Serving Children
Foster Grandparents are volunteers 60 years of age or older who work with children with special or exceptional needs. They volunteer 20 hours a week - usually 4 hours a day Monday through Friday. Foster Grandparents receive modest tax-free stipends, reimbursement for transportation, some meals during service, an annual physical, and accident and liability insurance while volunteering.
