Our Team

This site was designed and informed by VA clinicians and staff at the National Center for PTSD and Office of Mental Health Services.
A scene of parade: Four solders holding patriotic flags are leading the march.

On this website, we have collected key tools and resources for working with Veterans. This includes easy to access information about how to screen for military experience, understanding military culture, referring to VA, as well as tools for working with a variety of behavioral health concerns.

The primary content development team consisted of staff at the Dissemination and Training Division of the National Center for PTSD (NC-PTSD). The NC-PTSD is a VA Center of Excellence for research and education on the prevention, understanding, and treatment of PTSD. The purpose of the NC-PTSD is to improve the well-being and understanding of Veterans who have served our country.

The team included: Shannon E. McCaslin, Ph.D.; Josef Ruzek, Ph.D.; Jan Kemp, Ph.D.; Sara J. Landes, Ph.D.; Shana Spangler, Psy.D.; Pamela Swales, Ph.D.; Jacy Leonardo, Ph.D.; Patricia Watson, Ph.D.; Robyn Walser, Ph.D.; Kevin Lai, M.A.; Rachel Warden; Katherine Young, M.A.

The team worked in conjunction with a number of other subject matter experts and agencies to create a useful resource for providers in the community. The team would like to thank:

  • Director and staff, Web Services, Mental Health Services, VA
