The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) office located at this Embassy [former Immigration and Naturalization Service-INS] receives personal inquiries Mondays and Wednesdays, between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. at the USAID building adjacent to the Chancery.

Cases under their jurisdiction include: asylum petitions, new born transportation letters for the children of legal permanent resident born out of the United States, lost/stolen legal permanent resident cards, I-601 waiver applications, I-94s not collected in the United States, and immigrant visa petitions for spouses and children under 21 of U.S. citizens who permanently reside in El Salvador.
