Foundered in heavy sea and became awashed in the sea. They pilotted up the river aways to protection from the weather. During the night the anchor broke loose and they drifted down stream to the mouth were a big wave washed two overboard, swamping the boat. The lone survivor, a 15 year old girl, held on all night then swam to shore a day break.
