Our Mission

- To ensure that the Bureau's responsibilities and obligations under the President's National Energy Policy are accomplished in a timely and environmentally responsible manner.

- To ensure across-the-board coordination of all program areas affecting or affected by those policies including monitoring Bureau-wide implementation of its National Energy Plan in compliance with Executive Order 13212 of May 2001.

- To serve as a centralized point of contact for all efforts related to the energy initiative.

- To collect, assemble, and analyze information and comments received from all interested parties to assist the Bureau in its implementation of the President's policy.

- To coordinate the review of legislative proposals and assist in the preparation of energy policy.

- To act as the Directorate's principal representative on significant departmental or Bureau decisions affecting the implementation of the energy policies.

- To serve as the Directorate's principal liaison with other agencies (State and Federal), Congress, private industry and the public on energy-related issues.
