AGS will satisfy ORD requirements for range, accuracy, lethality, and sustained fire. The DD(X) will satisfy USMC requirements for NSFS and is consistent with Army requirements for precision engagement and dominant maneuver warfare.

As a part of the AGS program, a new Long Range Land Attack Projectile (LRLAP) is being developed. The LRLAP will use GPS for in-flight guidance.
