CP-28 (Career Program 28 - Equal Employment Opportunity)

EEO Careerists who are GS-11 and above, who wish to obtain training funds for College/University Tuition under the Army's Civilian Training, Education, and Development (ACTEDS) Competitive Professional Development Program should submit their paperwork in accordance with notices from the EEO Agency.

Career Development opportunities are available for EEO Specialists, GS-11 and above. Included are assignments with HQ Army, other Federal Agencies, or private industry. College tuition is also covered. These opportunities can surely help your career advancement, so give this a lot of thought. Careerists who are interested should complete the application forms found in the ACTEDS catalog at http://cpol.army.mil.

Competitive Development Funds

The EEO Career Program competition is open to careerists at the GS-11 and above grade levels. The following types of assignments are available:

Developmental Assignments: Developmental assignments may consist of two to three months in a career broadening assignment in conjunction with identified career goals of the nominee. The Career Program Manager should assist the applicant in identifying suitable assignments. Assignments may be with another Federal agency, a congressional committee, the EEO Agency, the Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance and Complaints Review Agency (EEOCCRA), or the applicant may request a specific assignment that provides exposure and experience in civil rights and related legislation/issues.

Training-With-Industry (TWI): Applicants may design and submit a program with a company of their choice anywhere in CONUS. The TWI assignment may run two or three months and should offer exposure in the areas of civil rights, workforce diversity, or employee relations.

University Training: Attendance should be to a college/university within the applicant's commuting distance of the work site. Attendance must be in excess of 120 working days and not more than one year. Courses selected must develop the applicant's job competence, support a planned career assignment, or enhance the managerial and leadership skills of careerist. Training requests must be submitted through channels; i.e. immediate supervisor, second level supervisor, and be endorsed by the local and MACOM commanders and directors.

Salary and benefits will not be reimbursed.
